Rivers of Living Water

Acrylic Mixed Media on Linen
He likes the colour blue and the imagery of sea waves. She likes a previous painting I did and thus I incorporated the same colour palette. Meeting up with the collector is crucial to me before commencing a commissioned piece. Getting to know each person and hearing what everyone in the family has to say, I. try my best to create a cohesive art.
While I was creating this piece, these words kept repeating over and over in my mind - "Living Waters". The challenge henceforth is how do I paint a piece that flows like water?
Gestural abstraction strokes using different shades of blue, aqua, ochre, and gold were used. Specks of gold signify fishes swimming in the waters (living things only thrive in moving water).
As the main centerpiece in the couple's beautiful modern living space, I hope that this piece will bring about a sense of tranquility and prosperity to the family.
